Bitterly cold outside, so what to do? A parade of course!
Just a few shots for a short video to play with figures and the camera and show some of the periods and themes that are currently interesting me.
It doesn’t really represent the painting table, which is mainly 12mm WWII armour and infantry, plus a couple of 28mm Wars of the Roses heavy cavalry pieces.

A fine parade indeed there Norm👍
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, sometimes it's enough just to get some boxes out and handle things.
DeleteLooking great sir!
ReplyDeletethanks Michal, always inspired by your works.
DeleteYou have many very fine models, Norm!
ReplyDeletethanks Jonathan, though my painting desk thinks my interests are spread too widely :-)
DeleteWhat the heck do you suppose MY painting desk thinks?
DeleteI’m guessing that your painting desk surrendered to the insanity of it all, many moons ago :-)
DeleteSuperb work. Some very nicely painted stuff there!
ReplyDeleteThanks Darren, though I'm still a bit new to this, so I think I uploaded with a lower resolution than I should have. It seemed to upload in seconds ... which can't be right!
DeleteVery nicely done Norm and very clear too. You certainly do have a lot of lovely toys that cover quite a wide period:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, in truth, too many fingers in too many pies, throw in the boardgames and I have quite long periods of procrastination.
DeleteOutstanding parade Norm! Lovely figures and settings. That sci fi whatever surrounded by what looked like goats made me especially smile!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike, they are my highland cattle and I liked the juxtaposition of future tech with an ancient organic breed.
DeleteFantastic. Great way to share the fruits of your labour.
ReplyDeletethanks JB, the 60 - 90 seconds video seems to be about right for these sort of things.
DeleteA great way to present a parade Norm - all the figures and eras shown were top notch - what scale is your WW2 collection?
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith, Oh Dear, my WWII scales, I have and like 10mm, 12mm, 15mm and 1/72! but something needs to give.
DeleteThe shots here are all 1/72, which I do like because of the chance to model and the matching terrain gives a nice smaller footprint for 28mm games. I actually sold off a bunch of 1/72 last year on e-bay, but then a local shop had a sale and well ..... you know how it is :-)
Very impressive montage! Some really stunning photos that would rival what I see in magazines and in rule books.
ReplyDeleteNow when I look at my own miniatures I’ll get all depressed. 😀
thanks Stew, you are too kind, your table is always a pleasure to see and I am a 'reluctant' painter.
DeleteA nice selection of figures, I particularly liked your new War of the Roses figures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter, the WotR are certainly a nice figure style and period to work on. I have gone for a block basing style like yo use so that I only have to paint in batches of 7 - 9 figures, which has become a sweet spot in making progress.
DeleteGreat video and a wonderful selection of well painted models, very impressive
ReplyDeleteThanks Graham, I enjoyed an afternoon of dabbling - I have the new Kursk boardgame from 3Ci on the way to me, I think that could interest you :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely Norm and a nice distraction for us all.....I liked those Austrians !
ReplyDeleteThanks Matt, the Austrians are 28mm Perry plastic and of course is about to take me down another rabbit hole! I have a fairly decent carton of French and Austrian plastic boxes and metal blisters to see a small project through, but other things are in the painting queue!
ReplyDeleteVery cool, Norm. I wish i had more tech savvy- I would do something like this!
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, today, I had a ‘map parade’, nothing recorded, I just put a chunk of game maps on the table and went through them, promising myself they would all get played soon :-)
DeleteGreat little video Norm featuring lovely model soldiers from different Era's. Must admit the Austrians surprised me, I didn't see those coming!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lee, rather like WWII, I have Austrian raw lead / plastic piles in 28mm, 15mm and 10mm, it just so happens that these ones got some love :-) I must admit though, I got some real pleasure yesterday getting this scale out and in front of the camera, the other scales don’t give me that ‘handling’ buzz .... they must be telling me something!
ReplyDeleteLovely parade, so it's 28mm or bust after all!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain, next post 12mm WWII :-)
