However, I have owned the related games printed by Revolution Games.

Stonewall's Sword was the first game to really highlight the system as an ACW thing. Of course the Flying Pig version is a streamlined and evolved version of that, but if it helps to look at design origins, here is a link to a descriptive post (the two subsequent posts go through a playing of the game) of that first game LINK

http://battlefieldswarriors.blogspot.com/2019/09/jacksons-sword-by-revolution-games.htmlNormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05031444717952755557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5368677310334370714.post-24158590771023133752022-10-19T12:52:25.514+00:002022-10-19T12:52:25.514+00:00Figures that you’ve already played it. Losing 4 gun batteries cost them 12 VP’s, which I hope could be avoided in the future, also for every objective hex they capture, they gain the VP’s and at the same time, the Prussians who start off controlling them, lose the same number of VP’s, so in effect the French get a double VP strike. So if they captured 1 Wavre hex, they would gain 3 VP’s and the Prussians would lose 3 VP’, so a 6 VP swing.

We shall see ……. !Normhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05031444717952755557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5368677310334370714.post-1833257242051289432022-10-17T13:20:08.491+00:002022-10-17T13:20:08.491+00:00Entertaining AAR, does seem tough for the French, ...Entertaining AAR, does seem tough for the French, it seems like they need to be super aggressive!
Best Iain caveadsum1471https://www.blogger.com/profile/02174163740406928172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5368677310334370714.post-86596892333628932382022-10-17T12:01:35.741+00:002022-10-17T12:01:35.741+00:00The old SPI Napoleons Last Battles had the 4 battl...The old SPI Napoleons Last Battles had the 4 battles done as quads, but with the maps mating for the campaign game. I think that gave a good strategic overview of the importance of Blücher getting enough of his army away to support Wellington, with Grouchy perhaps having better scope to interfere. Here, we are delivered the historic situation and the French just have to get on with it.

I will replay it and hope the French get a better opening with their artillery bombardment and then seeing if a French successful attack is viable. It would appear that no matter how well the French do at Wavre, if Napoleon loses at Waterloo it doesn't really matter. But if Napoleon wins, then it may make all the difference strategically.
