What have February 2015, May 2016 and September 2018 got in common? - why, to get my 28mm ACW Perry starter set up and running of course! :)

I am back at this, being somewhat inspired by what Matt Crump has been doing over on his blog, (‘Wargames in the Dungeon’ the link is in the resource Section Below), so here we go again, but this time with a couple of changes in process that will hopefully allow more success this time at seeing this project through ..... I mean how hard can it be :-)

This post discusses yet another attempt to get the game set done and presents a first action, which itself gives a grateful nod to the world of blogging.

Perry ACW game set update number 1

This is the second post that looks at getting the Perry ACW 28mm Battle in a Box set done, with a view to getting a bigger scale onto the kitchen table and evaluating it as a starter set.

As this is the first monthly update and with a commitment to doing a unit a week, I should by now have four units fully done .... Please hit the 'read more' button for the rest of this post to see how things have progressed.

Being drawn by the larger scales (1/72 and 28mm), but having limited gaming and storage space creates a contradiction that I have spent too many hours contemplating.

This post is effectively a re-launch of my 1/72 and 28mm project that started in February 2015, but fizzled to a slow burn distraction. Here, a focus returns to attempt getting 28's onto a small table for a battle in which each side can have at least a brigade sized formation or two in action.

Perry ACW 28mm rules - Firepower

The new Perry 28mm ACW ‘Battle in a Box’ package contains a set of easy / fast play rules called Firepower and while I have not got around to painting my lovely 28mm figures yet, I though I would give the rules a spin using my existing Kallistra 12mm ACW armies, which are based on 40mm frontages, just to try things out.
