Fixing followers on BLOGGER

For whatever reason, with the latest update of Blogger, clicking on someone else's FOLLOW ME icon on their blog to follow them, does not seem to offer a fully automated and seamless command to bring that blog onto your own ‘My Blog List’.

You will look like a follower on their page, but your own blog page will not show notification of new posts.

I am using an iPad with Safari and the work around for me is as follows:

Go into your BLOGGER dashboard and over on the left, select LAYOUT.

Look to wherever it is on your page that you have the MY BLOG LIST widget and click the edit button.

Scroll down to the list of blogs that you follow. You will note that all of the blogs that are successfully shown on your blog will have

/feeds/posts/default

extension added to the main blog.com name.

Search the edit list for blogs that you have recently followed and that do not have this extra piece text in their address.

Manually edit the address, add  the text  /feeds/posts/default and save.

That should be the job done.

If you try it with just one blog first to see how it goes.

It’s just a shame that people are joining blogs and then not getting new posts. I’m not sure whether posts are coming through on third party reader apps because all of mine are now properly labelled with extensions, but if you rely on your own blog page to keep up to date (I do) with the posts of others, then it is worth checking this out.

THANKS FOR VISITING THE BLOG, IT IS APPRECIATED. AT THE MOMENT THE COMMENT SECTION IS SWITCHED OFF.
